Northend

Winter team

Formed in 1961 as North End by Mr 'Goff' Williams and named after the Northend stores in Edgar Street which he owned. The team originally played at what was then the Labour Club where the alley was situated in the timber constructed ballroom at the rear of the club. At the end of the 1961/62 season it was decided to rebuild the ballroom and the team was forced to find another alley. They moved to the Heart of Oak Inn where they were playing in 1966.

They were then asked by the Landlord to move as he wished to form his own team and from 1979/80 until season 1983/84 they played at the Greyhound Dog.

In season 1984/85 they played at Hereford Rugby Club and from 1985/86 for three years until the end of season 1987/88 they played at the Golden Lion.

In season 1988/89 they moved to the Saracens Head which in 1992 became the Lancaster, in 1998 they moved to the Plough Inn until 1999 when they moved to Richmond Club alley No 4 and became Richmond Northend.
